How to Turn On Metered Connection on Windows 10

 An Internet connection with a data limit is known as a metered connection. Cellular data connections are metered by default. Wi-Fi & Ethernet network connections can be set to metered but are not by default. 

On a metered connection, some applications may behave differently to help reduce data usage. In addition, some Windows updates will not be automatically installed.

To make a Wi-Fi network connection metered, follow these steps:

01. Select Start and Press Settings.

02. Select Network & Internet and Select Wi-Fi.

03. Select Manage known networks.

04. Select the Wi-Fi network and Press Properties.

05. Select turn on Set as metered connection.
