How to Turn off Background Running Apps in Windows 10
Windows 10, many programs you download from the Microsoft Store will continue to run in the background to take advantage of extra features, such as the capacity to download data, update Live Tiles, and show notifications.
These features can be helpful in a number of scenarios, programs running in the background (even when you did not start them) can drain battery, waste bandwidth & system resources. fortunately, if keeping applications updated is not something important for you, Windows 10 ships with settings to manage which applications are allowed to operate in the background.

To disable applications from running in the background, use these steps:
01. Open Settings.
02. Click on Privacy.
03. Click on Background apps.
04. Under the "select which program can run in the background" section, turn off the toggle switch.
Alternatively, under the "Background programs", you can turn off the Let applications in the background toggle switch to prevent an app from running in the background.
Once you've completed the steps, you can still use the applications usually, but when you close them, all the processes will be closed until you launch the application again.
How to stop background applications using System settings.
While the feature will enable automatically as the battery life drops below 20%, you can enable the mode manually at any time using these steps:
01. Open Settings.
02. Click on System.
03. Click on Battery.
04. Under the "Battery saver", turn off the Battery saver status until the next charge toggle switch.
Note: It's also possible to turn on the battery icon in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar & click the Battery saver button.
After finishing the steps, none of the applications will be allowed to run in the background.
These instructions only apply to apps you acquired from the Microsoft store. If you are want to stop classic applications from using background, you need to close the program manually & make sure to stop the program from running at startup.
